Why am I chasing squash?
This summer, we’re thinking outside the box and (re) discovering organic virgin pumpkin seed oil.
It’s an oil that’s still too little known, yet one that’s full of benefits.

From a health point of view, pumpkin seed oil is rich in Omega 6 (polyunsaturated fatty acids) and vitamin E. Pumpkin seed oil is recognized as a re-mineralizing, tonic and stimulating oil.
Among its many benefits, the most cited is its positive effect on the prevention of prostate and urinary tract disorders.
From a culinary point of view, its highly fragrant taste with hints of hazelnut and its deep coppery color will pleasantly surprise you when you use it.
Pumpkin seed oil must not be chauffée.
It can only be used raw, in particular as a seasoning oil for salads, like this delicious “Quinoa tomato cucumber” salad recipe (see recipes), or grilled vegetables. It should be stored away from light, preferably in the refrigerator, afin order not to alter its organoleptic qualities.
And if you don’t want to be mistaken for a squash, you should know that pumpkin seed oil is an oil extracted from pumpkin seeds by simple mechanical pressure.
Squashes are part of the Cucurbitaceae family.
